Portsmouth are now firmly in the mix for the top six as they look to continue their resurgent run up the Football League.

Pompey have adapted quickly to life in the third tier and, if they do go up via the play-offs this season, they're bound to want to bring in some exciting players in order to get used to the Championship.

However, if they go up or not, they are not going to have the budget to go big in the market and so they might need to box clever in the transfer window.

With that said, then, we think a move for Mansfield Town's Lee Angol could be worth a shot:

The young Stags forward has scored six goals so far this season as they've looked to challenge for the League Two play-off places.

They're still in the race for the top seven as well, but if they don't make it they'll surely be wary of losing some of their better attacking stars.

Indeed, with Portsmouth being very reliant on Brett Pitman for goals this year, they could do with new attacking options and so, whilst representing a risk, Angol could be the kind of shrewd deal that helps share the burden.
