Aston Villa are ready to complete a permanent deal for 23-year-old centre-back Kortney Hause, according to the Birmingham Mail.

Since arriving on loan from Wolves in the January transfer window, Hause has starred in 11 Championship matches under Smith since, both at left-back and in the centre of defence.

But he has been forced to miss five of the their last six matches after suffering hip problem during the 3-1 win against Sheffield Wednesday back at the start of April.

He made his comeback in last weekend's 2-1 defeat to Norwich City, however, and now looks set to play a big role in the coming play-off encounters.

So, would this be a good signing for Villa?

We discuss...

Jacob Potter

"The perfect signing.

"Aston Villa need depth in defensive areas next season, and Hause is a player that they'll know well having been on loan this season.

"He's a versatile option to have for Dean Smith's side and he is certainly capable of making the step up to the Premier League if they win promotion."

Toby Wilding

"This would be a good signing for Villa.

"Villa's defence has improved considerably since Hasue's arrival in January, and it doesn't feel like that it is a coincidence.

"Getting this done now could also provide a big morale boost for Dean Smith's side ahead of the play-offs."

Chris Gallagher

"A very good signing.

"He has seriously improved their defence when he's featured and has a lot of potential.

"His partnership with Tyrone Mings looked brilliant and Dean Smith will want to secure both players on long-term deals."
