Hull City star-man Jarrod Bowen looks like he is finally heading out of the KCOM after West Ham out-flanked Crystal Palace to land the player in a deal worth £22 million, according to a report in the Daily Mail, with the 23-year-old reportedly set to undergo a medical at the Hammers.

Palace had looked as though they were in the driving seat to land the attacker, only for a late intervention by the Hammers that looks to have stolen the player right from under the noses of the Eagles.

So would Bowen be a good addition at the Hammers and would the move be good for his development?

Chris Gallagher

"This seems like the perfect move for all parties.

"Firstly, it's mystery as to why Bowen hasn't been picked up by a Premier League club yet as he has shown over the past 18 months that he is ready to make his mark at the highest level. So, this has been a long time coming and something he fully merits.

"And, the Hammers are the ideal club for him. They are desperate for someone to provide them with a goal-scoring threat in the final third, so the wide man will play regularly and that's all he needs right now.

"Plus, they are a big club and it will be interesting to see how he copes with the pressure of that and with the fact that they need his goals to stay in the Premier League."

"I think that Bowen is an excellent capture for West Ham and it’s a real clip for them to land him given the calibre of clubs that have been linked with his signature.

"Bowen is undoubtedly one of the best players in the Championship - he scores goals from anywhere, he creates assists for his teammates and he can anywhere across the front-line, making him a perfect addition for West Ham.

"The Hammers’ attack has been rather toothless under David Moyes, so they will be hoping that Bowen can come in and give them that spark in the final third.

"£20m seems like an absolute bargain for a player of his quality and his age and potential, so it’s undoubtedly a shrewd piece of business from the London club."

Josh Cole

“This would be a superb signing for West Ham when you consider just how impressive Bowen has been over the past two seasons for Hull.

“Following a stunning 2018/19 campaign in which he provided 26 direct goal contributions in the Championship, the winger has arguably taken his game to new heights this season.

“Despite the fact that he has only played 32 games in all competitions for the Tigers, Bowen has already scored 17 goals and has also produced six assists for his team-mates.

“Whilst the 23-year-old may demand a hefty fee due to the high standard of his recent displays, it may be worth the Hammers splashing the cash on him as he could potentially take the Premier League by storm in the coming months.”
