After the recent sacking of Darren Moore, West Bromwich Albion have identified Slavisa Jokanovic as the man they want to become the new manager of the club.

The former Fulham manager has held talks with the club, with further discussions to be taken place on Monday, as the club look to make a swift appointment.

This comes just days after the sacking of Darren Moore, as after a frustrating run of form of late, the club's automatic promotion hopes are hanging by a thread.

Here, FLW writer George Harbey discusses what has been a hectic few days for the club, in today's FLW Six Pointer.

Firstly, what did you make of the sacking of Darren Moore?

It was a disgraceful decision in my view.

When you take a look at the teams who came down from the Premier League last season, Stoke and Swansea have really struggled this season despite spending big, Stoke in particular.

But considering the fact that is Moore's first job in management, his recruitment was absolutely spot on, and he has done a fantastic job of cementing their place in the play-off spots.

Of course, the club would have liked to finish in the top two, and that is still possible, but the sacking was so harsh and very unjustified in my view.

With Moore gone, the club are looking at Jokanovic to replace him - right appointment?

If anyone is going to replace Moore, then Jokanovic is the man for sure.

I think that with the calibre of club that have been interested in hiring him earlier on in the season, it shows just how much of a good place West Brom are in if they do appoint him.

He will get the fans back on side.

What would he bring to the club?

Jokanovic is known mostly for his footballing philosophy, which served him so well at Fulham last season.

The London club were renowned for playing a very attractive, attacking brand of football, which is surely bound to please West Brom fans.

When you take a look at the quality of West Brom's attacking options, this is such an exciting thought.

What makes him stand out over other potential candidates?

I think what makes him stand out over others is his experience of winning promotion via the play-offs very recently.

He gained automatic promotion with Watford back in 2015, and took his Fulham side to Wembley last season where they defeated Aston Villa by a goal to nil.

People say that the play-offs is a lottery, but it's all about mental toughness and composure, and Jokanovic's experience of winning the play-offs last year will be beneficial for the club, with their place in the top six pretty much cemented.

Can you see West Brom pushing for the automatic promotion places if Jokanovic were to be hired?

I think that they have left it too late now.

After defeats to the teams around them in Leeds United and Sheffield United, they simply had to win against Ipswich at the weekend, but nine points looks to be impossible to turn around now.

I think I'd class them as the favourites to win the play-offs if Jokanovic was appointed, though.

Finally, can you see Jokanovic being a success at West Brom?

Everything is in place for him to do well.

When you consider his experience of winning the play-offs and take a look at his style of football, it looks to be the perfect appointment on paper.

The players will look forward to working under him, and it's exciting times for the club.
