‘The passion of the manager’ – What’s the secret to Millwall’s impressive home form?

Published

on

Millwall have enjoyed a very good first half of the season on their return to the Championship and beat another of the fancied teams on Saturday with their 2-1 success over Middlesbrough.

It leaves the Lions, who were promoted through the League One play-offs, nine points ahead of the relegation zone.

However, it’s the manner of their performances that has been most pleasing to fans. Millwall have seen off several of the division’s big boys and you could argue their play has deserved more points too.

So, what is the secret behind the fine form of Neil Harris’ men at home?

We take a look…

Alfie Burns

Millwall work extremely hard for Neil Harris, which is the key to success at any level of football.

Of course, there are better managers in the Championship than Harris, but the way he has Millwall working deserves huge credit.

They are doing far better than I ever expected in the Championship, which is credit to them.

George Dagless

They’re just brilliantly together.

The Lions possess plenty of hard-working players who all put a shift in for one another.

Their away form needs improving but home they can beat nearly anyone and so I think they’ll be safe.

Adam Simeoni

The passion of their manager.

Neil Harris knows the club inside out, and is getting the best out of his players this season. Harris loves the club and his enthusiasm appears to be running off on his squad, and the fact The Lions are a relatively small side appears to be helping.

Playing for the fans and punching above their weight has motivated this side, who I believe will be safe from the drop this season.
