Jude Bellingham is a player who continues to attract high-profile transfer interest despite the transfer window closing just under a fortnight ago.

The Birmingham City midfielder is currently the brightest prospect in the EFL, having played a key role in Pep Clotet's side on a weekly basis this term.

It's quite remarkable to think that Bellingham is only 16 years of age - the dynamic midfielder has made a total of 31 appearances in all competitions this season, and shows so much maturity and calmness in the middle of the park.

Naturally, a player of his potential is going to attract interest from some of the biggest clubs on the planet, as was the case throughout the whole of January.

Manchester United were linked with a big-money move for the young midfielder, and now, despite the window slamming shut 12 days ago, clubs are still reportedly running the rule over the 16-year-old.

With the player yet to sign a professional deal at St. Andrew's, it's likely to be a busy summer for the West Midlands club in their hopes of keeping hold of their most prized asset.

Here, we take a look at the paths potentially awaiting Bellingham at the conclusion of the 2019/20 campaign...

Stay at Birmingham

This would obviously be the outcome Birmingham fans would love to see in the summer.

Whilst moves to clubs the stature of Manchester United would usually be seen as a dream move for a young player like Bellingham, he needs to put his head before his heart.

With Bruno Fernandes joining an ilk of talented midfielders at Old Trafford, it's doubtful that Bellingham would play week in, week out for the Red Devils, or for any upper-end Premier League side for that matter.

At St. Andrew's, he's playing for a club he adores, and most importantly, he's a playing for a club that are rewarding him with regular game time.

He's starting games every week in the Championship and is playing for a manager who trusts him a lot. For a 16-year-old, that is absolutely beneficial at this stage of his career.

Move to Arsenal

As per the Daily Mail, Arsenal have recently been linked with a move for Bellingham as Mikel Arteta looks to get his feet properly under the table at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners have plenty of talented youngsters on their books, with the likes of Reiss Nelson, Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka and Joe Willock all earning a decent amount of game time this term.

Whether Bellingham would be sent out on loan as soon as he put pen to paper at the Emirates is another question, but that wouldn't necessarily be the worst option given how well it turned out for Nelson.

The midfielder spent a year in Germany last term and has become a key player for Arsenal since returning to North London.

It would be hard for Bellingham to make an immediate impact, but Arsenal are certainly starting to look like a club who give youth a chance.

Move to Manchester City

The Sun have recently credited the current Premier League champions with an interest in Bellingham.

The report claims that Pep Guardiola sent a scout out to watch the midfielder in action against Coventry last week, which suggests that he's a player admired by the Spaniard.

City are no strangers to spending big, and if they cough up the £30m Birmingham reportedly want for the youngster, then that suggests he'll be an important player in the short-term.

City haven't really handed much game time to their younger players in the Premier League this term, however they have been regulars in the Carabao Cup.

But you have to wonder, what good would it do for Bellingham's development going from playing week in, week out in the Championship, to playing only a handful of games in cup competitions.
