Charlton completed a remarkable turnaround on Tuesday morning, after the club announced that Lee Bowyer has signed a new one year deal to remain the club's manager for next season, just hours after claiming that the two parties had been unable to agree a deal to keep him at the club.

Bowyer, who took charge of The Addicks in March 2018, led Charlton to promotion to the Championship in his first full campaign as a manager last season, following a dramatic League One play-off final win over Sunderland at the end of May.

Despite that, Bowyer's contract had been set to expire at the end of the season, and a club statement issued on Monday suggested that Bowyer was set to leave the club after the two parties were unable to agree on the terms of the deal.

On Tuesday morning however, it was confirmed that Bowyer has now agreed a new one year deal that will see him take charge of Charlton in the Championship next season.

Taking to Twitter to react to news of the new deal, a number of Charlton fans expressed their delight at Bowyer's new contract, while others questioned the circumstances behind Monday's statement, and the future of controversial club owner Roland Duchalet.

Here's a look at what some of them had to say.
