These are changing times down at Leeds United and their summer has been a busy one compared to some of their Championship rivals.

Garry Monk has gone and in has come Thomas Christiansen, who arrives with little experience of the English game having recently managed in Cyprus with APOEL Nicosia.

But he’s the man that’s going to be leading the Whites forward and after the team’s wobble towards the end of the last campaign, he’ll be wanting to bring players that can see his team over the line this time out.

And there’s one player we at the FLW think would really make this Leeds United side a whole lot more complete than they were last season and that’s Aston Villa midfielder Aaron Tshibola.

Tshibola has endured a tough start to his Villa career having signed from Reading last summer and after being left out of the team under Steve Bruce, he moved to Nottingham Forest in an attempt to get some games under his belt.

But he struggled there too, failing to force his way into the struggling Forest XI and his Villa future is now looking under threat.

But as we saw during his time in Berkshire, he’s a mountain of a player that adds so much depth and quality to the middle-of-the-park when he’s on his game and playing well.

And he’s a man that needs first-team minutes to continue his development, which has been well and truly stinted over the past 12 months.

Christiansen should be looking for tough, well-rounded players that aren’t going to wilt like some of those who simply went missing towards the latter parts of last season.

Tshibola needs a break and we think if Leeds give it to him, he’d pay them back tenfold.
