Hull City suffered a disappointing 3-1 defeat at the hands of bottom-of-the-table Barnsley on the weekend but Grant McCann's side remain within five points of the top six.

The Tigers have been inconsistent this season, as their results over the last 10 days show – a 2-2 draw with Middlesbrough, followed by a 4-0 win against Preston North End and then a defeat at the hands of the Tykes.

The top six will still be their target in the 2019/20 campaign and so it should, considering the number of talented players in their squad.

With that in mind, selecting a five-a-side team out of the Tigers' squad is no easy task.

Is there a space for the outcasted Markus Henriksen? Would Tom Eaves be useful up top?

We have a go at selecting one...

Long has established himself as the best goalkeeper in the squad this season – starting every Championship game so far.

He's proved a safe set of hands and though his pass success rate of 54.9% could do with some work, he does have an assist to his name this season (Whoscored).

The 24-year-old has been in excellent form for the Tigers this season and is a balanced defender who is strong with and without the ball.

De Wijs is exactly what a five-a-side team would want from their last line of defence.

It may seem conservative to select a defender and a defensive midfielder but Stewart is excellent with the ball at his feet, as well as averaging the most tackles per game in the division (Whoscored).

His high-energy would be exactly what you'd want on a five-a-side pitch and he's a player that would be a constant nuisance to opposition sides.

Grosicki is a magician with the ball at his feet and knows where the back of the net is, as his 24 goals and 25 assists for the Tigers show.

The 31-year-old is exactly the sort of player you'd want in your side and is an automatic pick for Hull's five-a-side team.

There was no way we were ever going to leave this man out. Bowen has been sensational this season and instills fear into the hearts of defenders up and down the country.

With 12 goals and four assists, no player has contributed to more goals in the Championship this season.

In current form, the 22-year-old would surely make a five-a-side team made from the best players in the division.
