Non-league starlet Elliot Simeos has agreed a move to League One side Barnsley

The League One side announced the capture of the 19-year-old on Monday afternoon, confirming he has agreed a three-and-a-half year from FC United of Manchester.

Simeos, who has had spells at Benfica and Sporting Lisbon came to prominence with FC United has had a solid season so far for his former side ahead of the move to a professional standard.

The attacker who is predominantly used on the left-wing will head straight into the Tykes’ first team to be given a chance to impress manager Daniel Stendel.

Simeos managed eight assists and two goals this year for his now former side in 23 appearances for the National League North outfit.

The Portuguese player adds to Barnsley’s attacking options with the club pushing or an immediate return to the Championship after last season’s relegation.

The Tykes are fifth in the third tier, just four points off the automatic promotion places, with a game in hand over Luton who currently occupy second place.

Plenty of the Oakwell faithful have had their say on the capture of the non-league ace.

With that said, here’s how the Barnsley supporters reacted on Twitter to their latest addition.
