West Brom's emphatic victory over Leeds last time out will have given the side a real boost as they look to close the gap on the top two.

Darren Moore's men are expected to be competing for an automatic spot given the quality he has in the ranks and that's a view supported by James Morrison.

The experienced midfielder recently claimed that Championship rivals will fear the Baggies and he will be hoping for another promotion with Albion before he retires.

He also compared the current crop with that first side that he won promotion with - a team that had many players that the fans loved.

The likes of Paul Robinson, Chris Brunt, who is still at The Hawthorns, and Kevin Phillips were key members of that squad and are fondly remembered for the roles they played in helping Albion to the Premier League.

Therefore, the current group will know they can become favourites with the supporters too and here we look at TWO on course to do so...

Albion fans didn't really take to Phillips initially however it is tough for wingers in Tony Pulis sides.

However, he has bounced back this season, performing very well and scoring five goals in 13 games is an excellent return.

With his pace, power and drive, he is a player that fans love to watch and if he maintains these levels throughout the season he will be a favourite on the terraces.

All fans love goalscorers and that's what Gayle is.

So, even though he only joined in the summer, the on-loan Newcastle man has already established himself as a popular figure with nine goals in 14 games.

Fans will be desperate for the club to sign him up and Gayle will be key if Albion are to win promotion.
