With 27 matches played, West Brom sit in fourth place, three points behind second-placed Sheffield United and seven behind table-toppers Leeds United.

Darren Moore has done a wonderful job of galvanising the entire club after what was turning into a poisonous situation at the Hawthorns under Alan Pardew and they now look set to battle for promotion at the first time of asking.

It is in attack where they have had the most success, with Jay Rodriguez and Dwight Gayle forming a brutal partnership, with the pair scoring 27 goals between them already.

And the fans were given a big boost on Friday when it was revealed that Rodriguez is expected to stay at the club until the end of the season, despite heavy interest in the summer.

But apparently, they have had nowhere near the same level this month and is now set to stay with the Baggies as they look to win promotion back to the Premier League.

So, how big a boost is this to Baggies?

Gary Hutchinson

“I’m not going to start waxing lyrical about J-Rod.

“I’d be a bit non-plussed by this news if I were a Baggies fan.

“He’s been ok, not great. I expected more.

“Still, they need players available so it’s positive.”

George Harbey

"It’s a huge boost for Albion in their bid for automatic promotion.

"Rodriguez has contributed to plenty of goals this season, and his partnership with Gayle is perhaps one of the most clinical in the league when both are fit and available.

"After losing Barnes, they couldn’t have afforded to lose Rodriguez too."

Louie Chandler

"This is just the news fans will have wanted.

"Having already lost Barnes, you feel that had they lost either Rodriguez or Gayle then it would spell an end to their promotion hopes.

"Rodriguez is a cut above other Championship strikers at his best so is a valuable asset to Darren Moore."
