What do Rafael da Silva, Frank de Boer and Lars Bender all have in common? They are famous footballers with twin brothers who also made a name in the game.

Every so often a pair of twins enter the football world and cause double trouble for players and commentators alike.

Gradually two twins on the books of Norwich City are both steadily making progress through the football league route. Josh and Jacob Murphy only celebrated their 21st birthdays in February but are beginning to make names for themselves after their parent club loaned them to MK Dons and Coventry City respectively.

There is not much to separate the twins along with their looks, other than slightly different favoured positions.

Josh is currently playing at the higher level of the Championship and enjoys crossing, dribbling and shooting from distance when he cuts in off his favoured left flank.

He has scored six and assisted five for MK Dons this season, playing a part in a goal in every three of the 38 games he has played so far this season.

Brother Jacob shares similar looks, physique and attributes and is also a set piece specialist. On loan at Coventry City, he has remarkably played the same number of games as his brother, but tends to play in a more advanced role.

Jacob has now hit double figures for the season as he looks to help his side towards the play-offs.

Despite their tender years, the twins have certainly proved their ability in the second and third tier of the game.

Although on loan from Premier League club Norwich City, both of their futures may depend on how the Canaries perform in the last few weeks of the season.

If they survive relegation, the twins may struggle to break into the multi-million pound squad and be forced to ply their trade on loan or permanently with another club next season.

Yet relegation for Norwich and the inevitable sale of higher earning players could pave a way for one or both of the brothers to break into the first team.
