After a poor season last year, Peterborough United suffered relegation down to League One. 

With Grant McCann now back in charge at the club, the boss is looking to shape his squad in the hope of a push for promotion back up next season.

Not only does this involve bringing new heads in, but the side also need to get rid of the players who weren't good enough and refresh the side a bit.

Recently it was announced that Jorge Grant had left the club to join Hearts so we asked FLW's Peterborough fan pundit Alex Batt for his thoughts on the departure: "Not really that sad to see Grant leave to be honest with you.

"It was a move that simply didn't work out, we couldn't find a position for him or his best position. There was a lot of debate where he should play and should he be number ten, should he be deeper.

"For whatever reason, it didn't work out for him. McCann came in, clearly didn't favour him, didn't fancy him so I'm not surprised to see him go.

"Not surprised to see him go to Hearts either really, he didn't really impress us at all.

"He was good for Lincoln but simply the move failed and I'm not surprised that he's moved on, nor am I that sad that he's moved on in truth."

The Verdict: 

After a strong season with Lincoln, Grant wasn't able to replicate his success with the Posh last season with the midfielder making 26 league appearance and scoring two goals.

Admittedly he was in a side that was having a generally poor season, but he clearly struggled with the step up and was not able to provide the impact he would've liked.

You could argue that had he stayed on for next season he would have found his form again. However, after a relegation season and with a new manager in at the club, a fresh start seems like the most sensible option for all parties in this case.
