Queens Park Rangers are on the lookout for the next best talent in their academy as they try to compete in the Championship.

Steve McLaren’s side had a terrible start to the season, but turned it round with a few wins on the bounce.

Despite this, money is still relatively scarce, and to compete with the richer clubs, one way of getting an edge may be to recruit from within.

The success has come partly due to loans, but this is not sustainable.

In the first team this season there are a number of academy graduates, including Ebere Eze and Joe Lumley.

However, the look for talent is always on and the Hoops will be hoping to find the next bargain who can break into the first team from their academy.

Here, we look at the three most exciting prospects at QPR’s academy right now.

Aramide Oteh has shown bags of potential since stepping up from the Under-18’s to the Under-23’s side for QPR.

The striker scored 16 goals for the youth side last term and netted on his senior debut, which was against Millwall last year.

He made six first-team appearances last season and could feature under Steve McClaren as we enter a tough run of fixtures in the winter period.

Deshane Dalling was snapped up by QPR following his release from Huddersfield and is showing huge potential.

The tricky winger is contracted at the club until the end of the season and is a star performer in Paul Hall’s youth side.

Charlie Owens joined the club from Tottenham Hotspur in May 2017 and made 19 appearances for Paul Hall’s side.

The talented midfielder was part of Steve McClaren’s senior squad on the pre-season tour and looks like one who could be fast-tracked to the first team in the coming years.
