Football fans around the country were excited when Leeds United appointed Argentinian tactician Marcelo Bielsa this summer.

‘El Loco’ is renowned around the world for his tactical innovations, and Leeds fans were very anticipatory about his signature.

One reason many Leeds fans were excited was because of Bielsa’s tendency to use youth players and bring them through the ranks.

In other jobs, especially his lengthy tenure in his home land of Argentina, Bielsa brought through notable Argentinian stars that went on to play at a high level, such as Gabriel Batistuta and Mauricio Pochettino.

Leeds’ academy has done what it has for years recently, nurturing some exciting talent.

A few of these players featured in the World Cup for England this summer, including Danny Rose and Premier League winner, Fabian Delph.

There are a few exciting talents in and around the Thorp Arch academy now, and here we pick the best THREE...

Agree, Leeds fans? Or have you spotted some better talents?

Ryan Edmondson made his Leeds debut at the age of 16 against QPR on the final day of last season, but still remains part of the academy setup.

After joining from York City in January 2018, the tall striker is crucial in terms of goalscoring in the U-23 team and is widely regarded the hottest prospect at the Thorp Arch academy.

Tom Pearce has been a key member of Leeds’ U23 side in recent years and has featured for the first team in cup competitions and less important games, although he hasn’t yet broke into the left-back position on a regular basis.

The left-back has also played for the England U20 team and will hope he can break into the Leeds team soon after a string of impressive performances that earned him a new contract.

Jack Clarke made his senior debut against Brentford this season, amid a big injury crisis.

The Whites winger was impressive, although he has fallen back into the academy rather than the first team setup, but at the tender age of 17, age is on his side and he will hope to impress Marcelo Bielsa in training.
