Rangers are said to be rivalling Aberdeen for the potential signing of Derby's Max Lowe on loan next season according to the Daily Record.

Lowe is currently on loan with Aberdeen and has been impressive this season, and has evidently made a good impression on Rangers boss, Steven Gerrard.

He has made 32 appearances in total, but has struggled for game time with Derby in recent seasons, which means that his short-term future is away from Frank Lampard's squad.

It seems unlikely that Lampard will allow Lowe to leave on a permanent deal, as at the age of 22, he still remains in his plans for the future.

Lowe will be hoping to make a good impression out on loan next season, as he could well provide the Derby boss with a potential selection dilemma for future seasons.

That could be in the Premier League as well, with the Rams preparing for their trip to Wembley in the Championship play-off final against Aston Villa later this month.

But would Lowe be a good signing for Rangers if he signed on loan in the summer?

We discuss....

Jacob Potter:

"This would be an excellent bit of business if they pull this off.

"Lowe has proven that he play consistently to a high level in Scotland, and it's no surprise to see Rangers making steps towards signing him on loan in the summer.

"He'd be the missing piece in the jigsaw for them, and would add some much-needed strength in depth in defensive areas for Gerrard's men next season."

Toby Wilding:

"This could be a good signing for Rangers.

"Lowe clearly had an impressive season in Scotland with Aberdeen, as evidenced by his recent Player of the Season award there.

"He has adapted well to the Scottish league, so he could be a big help to Rangers as they look to close the gap on Celtic next season."

George Brooks:

"I think this would be a really good signing for Rangers.

"Lowe is a good player and he has done very well in the Scottish Premiership for Aberdeen in this year's campaign.

"Derby obviously want to keep hold of the player, but another loan spell will be good for his development and help him realise his full potential."
