It's been another disappointing Championship campaign for Derby County but there's thought that Gary Rowett is the man to take the club forward this summer.

There's bound to be plenty of change at Pride Park over the coming months, and it's important that former Birmingham boss Rowett really begins to balance the books at a club that has underperformed for some time now.

Unlike his time at St Andrews, Rowett will be financially backed in the East Midlands but he's surely got to clear some of the deadwood out of this Derby squad that has plagued their play-off push for years now.

But looking to potential incomings, there's one man we think would do a cracking job if he signed.

The man in question? Former Manchester United defender Fabio, who's currently on the books with Middlesbrough.

The £1.7million-rated left-back is destined for the drop with Boro and he might be looking for a new challenge over the coming months.

And we've seen both this season and during his time in the Premier League that he's an attacking full-back that has plenty to offer at this level.

Granted, he's not the best defender in the division but when it comes to doing the offensive and defensive work, he'd be up there if he made the move.

The Brazilian's time at Old Trafford certainly whimpered out towards the end of his career but he might be a solid player to bring in for Rowett at Derby, if he decides to shore up his defence.
