Reading avoided relegation to League One by just three points, finishing in 20th position in the Championship table this season.

According to reports, Reading are looking to bolster their squad in the summer, starting with Barnsley right back Andy Yiadom.

The 26-year-old has been linked with a free transfer to Madejski Stadium due to his contract at Oakwell expiring this summer, after a two year spell at the Yorkshire club.

Paul Clement’s side had a disappointing season at best, and will certainly be investing in some fresh talented players come the end of the transfer window.

In Yiadom, Reading would be getting a solid replacement or competition to starter Chris Gunter who has played 54 times for the Royals this season alone. Yiadom’s versatility means he is capable of playing on either side of the defence, perfect for an injury struck Reading side.

If Paul Clement does sign Andy Yiadom, he certainly won’t be the only new face at the Madejski Stadium this summer, so here are the men who should realistically join him...

Marcus Maddison is transfer-listed at Peterborough United with it evident that the Posh feel as though they can't keep him for next season.

Certainly, he is good enough for the Championship and the Royals are a side that could benefit from his spark and creativity.

Paul Clement wants to bring better attacking football to the club, this man would allow him to do that.

With the uncertainty over the future of star centre-back Liam Moore, Paul Clement is bound to bring in reinforcements this summer at the back.

While age may not be on his side, Michael Dawson’s experience in the back line could be everything that the Royals need to replace Moore, if he was to leave.

Over 400 career appearance, the 34-year-old could bring the wisdom and consistency at the back that Paul Clement’s side are in desperate need of.
