It's been less than two weeks since the League One regular season ended but Sheffield United haven't let that stop them, as they've began a busy transfer window ahead.

The Blades are preparing for life back in the Championship after a six-year absence and have only made one signing, acquiring controversial forward Ched Evans and have reportedly lodged a bid for Hartlepool United's Nathan Thomas.

However, if there is one player that should indefinitely arrive at Bramall Lane in the summer then it should be Manchester United left-back Joe Riley.

The 20-year-old initially signed on loan at the club in January until the end of the season, although it didn't go all according to plan as the Old Trafford youngster dislocated his shoulder in training, after making just two appearances for the Yorkshire outfit.

Riley's spell at Sheffield United was cut short and the defender returned to the Red Devils, but he'll be determined to make a swift recovery by getting regular game time as soon as possible.

That is why Chris Wilder should negotiate with the Premier League side to bring the full-back to the Blades again - as he impressed numerous scouts during his two outings at the third-tier club.

I'm sure the Manchester United coaches would welcome a move by the newly-promoted team as they are fully aware of what Joe Riley's capable of, instead of letting him rot in the reserves.

Sheffield United fans, is Joe Riley good enough for the Championship? Is it realistic to suggest he could make a return to Bramall Lane? Let us hear your thoughts in the comments below!
