Leeds United fell to third in the division after an embarrassing defeat to promotion rivals West Bromwich Albion on Saturday evening.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men were hammered 4-1 at the Hawthorns last weekend in what was a sobering result after an impressive start to the season.

The performance from individuals and as a collective left a lot to be desired and will be scrutinised for the next two weeks before Leeds' next league fixture against Bristol City on November 24.

One player who received criticism after the heavy loss was young goalkeeper, Bailey Peacock-Farrell.

The 22-year-old stopper was at fault for one of the four goals in the demolition, and he is a player that has divided opinion all season at Elland Road.

Bielsa added Jamal Blackman on-loan from Chelsea in the summer, but he is yet to feature in the Championship this term, finding himself restricted to just two appearances in the League Cup.

After the defeat, we here at FLW put it to Leeds supporters and asked them: Should Bielsa drop Peacock-Farrell?

It was a pretty resounding result from the hundreds that voted, with 69% believing that the Leeds head coach should indeed replace the goalkeeper for the visit of Bristol City.

With Blackman being patient and biding his time, the majority of supporters polled surely feel the Chelsea loanee is the man to start between the sticks when the Championship resumes later this month.

Conversely, 31% felt that the 22-year-old should retain his place despite a few high-profile errors leading to goals this term.

The Verdict

I agree with the majority here and think Peacock-Farrell should be dropped ahead of the next round of matches.

He has made a few errors this season, and if Leeds want to go up, that needs to be irradiated - and changing the keeper might be the solution to the problem.

Blackman has bided his time and waited patiently, having to watch Peacock-Farrell make these errors and still find himself out of the side.

Blackman would be the better choice between the sticks as he was a huge part of Sheffield United’s solid campaign last year whilst on loan at Bramall Lane.
