Queens Park Rangers host Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup Fourth Round tonight.

Friday night under the lights in West London - Mark Warburton's side will be looking to build on their 5-1 win over Swansea City in the Third Round earlier this month.

They welcome a Sheffield Wednesday who, in recent weeks have beaten Brighton & Hove Albion in the FA Cup, and Leeds United in the league, but lost 5-0 at home to Blackburn Rovers last time out.

Warburton spoke to the www.qpr.co.uk ahead of tonight's fixture, and here's the main talking points from his presser:

Warburton on the FA Cup

“It’s a fantastic competition and as a kid growing up it was ‘the’ competition,” said Warburton. "The pictures live long in the memory, so what we have to do is apply ourselves really well.

“We know that Sheffield Wednesday arrive here on the back of a difficult home game against Blackburn and I know Garry and his squad will be very keen to deliver a performance.”

A lot of teams in both the EFL and the Premier League don't much favour the cup - it's seen as a distraction from the more lucrative domestic leagues. But Warburton seems keen on a up run, and so too do the fans.

It's set to be another mid-table finish for QPR, with the threat of relegation all but gone and the hope of a play-off push distancing itself further, so why not go for it in the cup? It can be just as lucrative as a decent league finish, and both the players and fans will be right up for this fixture tonight.

Warburton on Sheffield Wednesday

"They [Sheffield Wednesday] have sold their away end allocation and will be well supported and we also appreciate that their mindset will be one of being very determined to right a perceived wrong.

“We’ll be putting out a strong team to try and win the game and I hope our fans can come out. I think Friday night is a great night for football. You finish work, the working week, and then you get to watch your team under the lights. It’s fantastic.

“I hope very much that our supporters can respond to that and that it’ll be a good game. We want to go into the hat for the fifth round.”

Sheffield Wednesday, much like QPR in fairness, always travel well. They're one of the most historic clubs in the EFL and with a massive fan base, which will make for a feisty atmosphere in W12 tonight.

Garry Monk will be looking for vengeance after their embarrassing loss to Blackburn last weekend. The sending off of ex-QPR man Massimo Luongo kick-started their downfall that day, so expect Monk to name a strong Wednesday side, and expect them to be lively from the off.

Warburton on injuries

"Jordan [Hugill] is looking fit and strong. Joe [Lumley] is looking fit and strong and Yoann [Barbet] is out on the grass. Yoann has been out for an extended period of time but he’s been back in full training with us as of Monday.

“He probably needs an U23's game to get some match minutes back into his legs. It’s nice to have Yoann back – we have missed his left-sided balance – and he is a welcome addition back to the squad.”

Lumley's absence last week saw Liam Kelly come into the side against Leeds, and he ended up saving a Patrick Bamford penalty, keeping a clean sheet and taking the Man of the Match award.

It would've been hard to watch for Lumley, who missed out with a neck injury, and has received plenty of criticism from fans throughout the season.

Hugill's return will also be a huge boost for QPR - he scored twice against Swansea in the Third Round, taking his tally to ten for the season. Meanwhile, Barbet seems to have been out for an age. He's not featured since mid-October but fans have this week been handed an update on the Frenchman - he's a long way off first-team action, but he's on his way.
