This Saturday sees Millwall make the long trip up to Lancashire as they take on Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium, with the Lions hoping to achieve back to back away victories.

Millwall were also in the North West last time out, as they defeated Preston North End 1-0 at Deepdale courtesy of a Shaun Hutchinson header.

Gary Rowett's side face another difficult test this weekend, with Millwall failing to win against the Latics in the last two games between the sides.

Ahead of the upcoming clash, the Millwall boss spoke to the press, discussing a selection of different topics.

Rowett first discussed Millwall's opponents, and said that he is expecting a difficult game against Paul Cook's men.

“I’ve played against Cooky’s sides over the years, I don’t think I’ve ever had an easy game,” Rowett told News at Den.

“We saw that in the home game. I thought it was one of our most difficult games of the season and we snatched a point when we probably didn’t deserve it."

That match ended in a 2-2 draw at The Den in November, and Rowett added that his side are prepared for any eventuality with regards to how Wigan will set up tactically.

“They’re a side that mix the game up. They can play direct to Moore, they can pass the ball," he said.

“They’ve actually performed really well in the games, they just haven’t been able to get that last little bit to get over the line and win the games they’re performing well in."

The Millwall boss also discussed the strain of last week's league schedule, which saw the club play three games in a short space of time.

“It was a big week last week for us physically. You always have a bit of a residual effect with that so we gave them an extra day off," Rowett added.

“I think we’re all good and hopefully that will remain the same."
