Oxford United take on Premier League side Newcastle United this weekend, as they hope to cause an FA Cup upset and get through to the fifth round.

The U's will be full of confidence heading into the fixture knowing that they have the ability to cause a shock having already beaten West Ham in the Carabao Cup earlier this season.

Karl Robinson has been in buoyant mood ahead of the fixture and has labelled the tie as a 'free hit', although he's determined that his side will give their best to shock the Premier League team.

The manager has spoken very kindly of the supporters who have made the trip up to Newcastle and has expressed his feeling that it is a good sign of how the club is going at the moment.

Speaking to The Shields Gazette, Robinson said: "I think that’s a tremendous sign at the weekend that people have belief in us. Every one of those 4,000 knows it will be difficult, but they probably also think there could be a shock as well."

Alongside this particular fixture, the side are battling for promotion to the Championship and they have been one of the standout teams in League One.

The signings of Liam Kelly, Nathan Holland and Marcus Browne have been brought in to try and give them a bit of quality to guarantee promotion, and a couple of the new players may feature in the game at Newcastle on Saturday.

Robinson is insisting that his side aren't going to win the FA Cup, but says credit must go to the players for getting to the fourth round and giving everyone a day out.
