Reading face a difficult challenge in their quest to return to winning ways as they prepare to face a table-topping West Brom side at the Madjeski Stadium on Wednesday night.

The Royals are still searching for their first league win since New Years' Day after being held to a 1-1 draw by Hull over the weekend, but this will certainly not come easy against Slaven Bilic's men who are currently four points clear at the summit.

The Midlands outfit have overcome a blip in form to win back-to-back matches against Luton and Millwall in recent weeks, and there can be no doubt that Reading will need to be at their best in order to gain a positive result against the Baggies.

Reading boss Mark Bowen has now been speaking ahead of the difficult test and the Welshman appeared fully focused on his own team's performance rather than being concerned about the identity of their opponents.

Here is what he had to say...

"We've got to make sure we go into the game in front of our own fans here and we're back to the qualities we've shown over the last few months," Bowen said.

"We're trying not to get wrapped in playing anything other than our own game, showing our qualities and trying to be in charge of our own destiny.

"We've got to keep striving forward, as I've said right from the start. We'll keep pushing and trying to put wins on the board, and seeing where we get to."

The 56-year-old also added that he is fully expecting his Royals side to bounce back after conceding a late equaliser against Hull over the weekend, while he will be demanding his side to be mentally and physically ready for the West Brom test.

"We want to get back to the situation of knowing what we're good at as a team, and in terms of a performance, I'll certainly be looking for the players to bounce back," he said.

"As a group, we've got to make sure we freshen up physically and mentally for a big test on Wednesday."
