This Saturday sees Portsmouth make the long trip up to the Fylde Coast as they take on Fleetwood Town in League One, and the side will be hoping to build on the positive momentum from their last match.

Pompey were last in action on Tuesday night in the Leasing.com trophy semi-finals at Fratton Park, where they secured a thrilling last-gasp 3-2 win over Exeter City to book their place in the final at Wembley, where they take on Salford City in April.

Pompey will want to channel that fighting spirit once again this weekend against the Cod Army, and ahead of the big game, Kenny Jackett has been speaking to the press about a range of different topics.

The main talking point was the Exeter match, but Jackett reaffirmed that the league remains the club's priority this season.

QUIZ: Can you name these 11 Portsmouth flops?

“Everyone was delighted to get through on Tuesday night, but we all know that Saturday is the most important thing," Jackett said.

“The way we finished against Exeter can lift you and provide confidence because Fratton Park was on a real high."

Fleetwood sit in 8th place in the league table, two positions behind Portsmouth. Jackett knows it will be another tough away trip, against a side who have won their last four on the bounce.

“Nobody here is underestimating them because the job that Joey Barton and Clint Hill has done there is outstanding," he said.

“You always know it will be difficult against one of your rivals – in terms of where the sides are in the table – and we have to get our own performance right.”

Portsmouth have a good record against Fleetwood in recent times, winning their last five games against the Lancashire side. Their last defeat to the Cod Army came back in 2013.
