Nerves are starting to rattle around Charlton Athletic now as we head into the final months of the season with the drop still threatening The Addicks.

Lee Bowyer's side currently sit in 19th place with 33 matches played, just five points clear of the relegation zone and just six ahead of this weekend's Luton Town match, leaving the Valley clash looking rather important.

In fact, it is not just this match which Bowyer will be focusing on. In their next six games, the Addicks play six sides in the bottom half in Luton, Sheffield Wednesday, Huddersfield, Middlesbrough, Hull and QPR.

Ahead of the match he addressed the press and here is a round up of what he had to say.

To begin with Bowyer reflected on last Saturday's disappointing 2-0 loss to Blackburn Rovers. Having just beaten Nottingham Forest on the road, it was a result which left a sour taste.

However, the Charlton boss seems to now be able to take some positives from the display, highlighting the opening 20 minutes when he felt his team was well on top.

Then came the injury updates and they were predominantly bad news.

First, he revealed that West Brom loanee Sam Field had returned to the Baggies for treatment on a knee injury which has ruined his campaign so far, hinting that he may even miss the rest of the season.

Attacking midfielder Jonny Williams is also out for a couple of weeks, although Bowyer thought it could have been more so was keen to take the positives from that update at least.

The final update concerned Darren Pratley. The midfield enforcer is likely to miss this weekend's clash but there is a good chance he will be back for the Wednesday match, with the aid of a painkilling injection.
