Lee Bowyer will be desperate to see his Charlton side return to winning ways against Huddersfield Town this weekend following a gutting midweek defeat.

Wednesday night saw the Addicks beaten 1-0 by Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough, Steven Fletcher heading home the 95th minute winner as Bowyer's side looked to hold on for a point.

It was a result which has left them just two points above the relegation zone and now come up against a Huddersfield side appearing to find a bit of form.

They beat promotion hopefuls Bristol City at The John Smith's in midweek to move level on points with the Addicks so this will no doubt be viewed as a must win game for both sides.

QUIZ: How much can you remember about Charlton’s 2020 so far?

As usual, Bowyer has been addressing the press ahead of kick-off and here is a round-up of what he had to say...

The EFL were once again a target of the Charlton boss as he bemoaned the club's fixture schedule over the recent weeks, specifically how his side are tasked with playing Wednesday and then Saturday on more than one occasion.

He claims that Huddersfield will have a small advantage having played the night before, giving them extra recovery time.

Focusing more on their rivals, Bowyer praised the attacking intent showed by Danny Cowley's side against Bristol City, as well as specifically praising Trevoh Chalobah and of course former Addick Karlan Grant.

He was also quick to point out that the fact they are above both Luton and Barnsley shows how far they have come, having finished below both in League One last season.

There were also updates provided on the fitness of Naby Sarr, who missed their midweek clash, Jonny Williams and Albie Morgan. You can read more on that in our injury news piece.
