Reading travel to Leeds on Saturday afternoon to face Marcelo Bielsa's promotion-hopefuls at Elland Road in what is sure to be a big test of Mark Bowen's side.

The Royals are in a position of relative comfort at the moment, perched in 15th place and 11 points clear of the relegation zone and also 11 behind sixth-placed Preston North End.

They will be looking for back-to-back wins in Yorkshire on Saturday as well having comfortably dispatched Sheffield Wednesday 3-0 previously with Puscas, Meite and Baldock all grabbing a goal.

The Whites had been on a poor run of form in 2020 but a draw with Brentford at Griffin Park and a win against Bristol City on Saturday has boosted spirits around the club again.

QUIZ: How much do you know about Reading’s January signings?

As is customary, Bowen addressed the press ahead of this one and here are the main talking points...

There was plenty of respect aimed the way of Bielsa's side ahead of this one. Whilst Bowen admitted that he thought West Brom were the best side in the division he also said that he thinks the Whites are toughest opponents to play against because of the sheer intensity with which they play.

He was also complementory of the Elland Road crowd but also said that the atmosphere they create can often work against their own side and that it is something the Royals may look to exploit

On his own side Bowen said that one of his primary goals at the moment is to find more consistency with Reading having drawn, lost and won over the course of their last three matches.

With a midweek clash with Wigan Athletic and an FA Cup clash with Sheffield United in the offing, he also emphasised the need to take care of his squad, revealing that he had given a few players some days off in order to recover mentally ahead of the busy schedule.
