Reading take on Cardiff on Friday night looking to bounce back from their midweek defeat to Bristol City.

The Royals have lost just twice in their last 13 games in all competitions and Mark Bowen has made the side much harder to beat since replacing Jose Gomes as manager in October.

Reading will be hoping that any transfer speculation doesn't affect the side as the game happens to fall on the same day as transfer deadline day.

There are recent reports (Berkshire Live) that the Royals are set to attempt to sign Crystal Palace forward Connor Wickham, although it's yet to be seen whether they can get a deal over the line.

Bowen has spoken of the need for the Royals to bounce back after Tuesday night's defeat and said a win at Cardiff could allow his side to start looking up the table again.

As well as this, he spoke about the style that the Bluebirds play, and that his Reading side know exactly what is going to come at them on Friday night and that they know it can be very tough.

Reading will be have lost just once away from home in this Calendar year, and that was at a strong Millwall side. They'll be hoping to put in a performance that will match the victories at both Fulham and Preston from a month ago.

The Royals will hope they can replicate the reverse result having beaten the Bluebirds 3-0 at the Madejski Stadium when they met earlier in the campaign.
