Queens Park Rangers maintained their unbeaten start to the 2019/20 campaign last night by securing a penalty shoot-out victory over Bristol City in the Carabao Cup, with one player in particular producing a stellar display for Mark Warburton's side.

Brought in by the Hoops from Burnley on a season-long loan last week, Nahki Wells made an instant impact at Loftus Road by firing in a powerful effort from the edge of the box to level the tie after Famara Diedhiou had given the visitors the lead.

A menace throughout for the R's, the 29-year-old was unlucky not to find the back of the net on a second occasion in the latter of stages of the clash as he saw a long-range effort hit the crossbar.

Although he eventually had to settle for just one goal, Wells managed to win a penalty in the 86th minute which was converted by Ryan Manning.

With the game ending in a 3-3 draw, the forward helped his side reach the second round of the Carabao Cup by scoring in the resulting penalty shoot-out, which the R's won 5-4.

Having produced 13 goal contributions during his time on loan with the Hoops last season, Wells will unquestionably be aiming to better this total during the current campaign.

After the Robins clash, Wells took to social media to express his adoration for the R's by posting a heart emoji in response to tweet from the club's official Twitter account.

Upon seeing the post, plenty of QPR fans reacted in a positive manner by complimenting the forward for his performance against City.
