Loyalty from the modern day footballer is something hard to come by in the current climate, but there are still a number who have remained at one club for several years.

However, players need to consider their futures and would want game time as they near the end of their careers, so departing the club they've spent years at, has at times, got to be the correct decision.

This happens to be the case for AFC Bournemouth man Marc Pugh, who has found minutes on the pitch hard to come by in the last twelve months on the south-coast.

The 30-year-old is one of the players who's been at the Cherries through their meteoric rise up the football pyramid into the Premier League, having joined the club in the summer of 2010 from dissolved outfit Hereford United.

Pugh is more or less a legend at the Vitality Stadium, but he must leave if he wants to prolong his playing days and Sheffield Wednesday is the ideal destination if he can't find a potential suitor in the top-flight.

Following the heartache they endured in the Play-Off semi-finals against Huddersfield, manager Carlos Carvalhal will want to rectify that and bring in top quality footballers to enhance his squad.

There is no doubt that the Owls should be chasing promotion for the third season running, and Marc Pugh is an attacker who can have a real influence on the current crop of players at Hillsborough.

His experience and attacking guile would make him a superb addition at the club.
