Portsmouth take on Peterborough United on Saturday afternoon aiming to get the win that could take them into the play-off places in League One.

After a disappointing start to the season, the side from Portsea Island have recovered and find themselves in 10th place, just two points off the top six.

Pompey are also unbeaten in six league games and are yet to lose at Fratton Park this season in League One.

However, they take a side in 3rd place whose front three - consisting of Ivan Toney, Mo Eisa and Marcus Maddison - have scored 33 goals between them this term.

It is the first of three games in December for Portsmouth against the top three sides in the division, and they will all be key tests to see where Pompey stand up against the best in League One.

Here's the likely XI that Kenny Jackett will field for Pompey when they take on the Posh at Fratton Park tomorrow afternoon...

Pompey are likely to make two changes from their last league game against Rotherham at Fratton Park, with key players back from injury.

QUIZ: Can you name Portsmouth's club player of the season from the last 15 years?

Kenny Jackett will likely set up in his usual 4-2-3-1 formation against Peterborough United, which has been used eleven times this season League One.

Craig MacGillivray is expected to continue in goal for Pompey, and will have a point to prove for the Hampshire side after keeping no clean sheets in his last three games.

There is likely to be one change to the back four, as Sean Raggett should make a return to centre-back, replacing Oli Hawkins. Raggett has fully recovered from an adductor injury that was suffered against Harrogate Town. Brandon Haunstrup is also expected to continue at right-back for Pompey.

The midfield should also see one change, with defensive midfieler and club captain Tom Naylor poised to return, after gaining full fitness following a hamstring injury. He will partner Ben Close, replacing Anton Walkes.

The attacking midfielders will remain unchanged, with Ryan Williams maintaining the spot on the right-wing due to a knock suffered to Marcus Harness. Ronan Curtis should continue on the left, with John Marquis acting as an attacking midfielder/second striker.

Ellis Harrison should maintain his striking spot, after being rested for the midweek Leasing.com trophy win against Northampton Town.

This is a key game for Portsmouth if they want to realise their promotion ambitions, but it will be far from easy against a side who have scored the most goals in the division, with forty.
