Portsmouth are back in action this evening at Fratton Park, as Rochdale make the long trip down to the south coast.

It will be Pompey's second match in the space of four days, after their 3-1 success over MK Dons on Tuesday night. The south coast side be keen to make it two home wins in a week.

Tonight's clash is also a chance for Pompey to consolidate on their current league position as they sit in the play-off places.

A victory would take Portsmouth into third spot ahead of Wycombe on goal difference, so the incentive is there.

Their upcoming opponents Rochdale are currently fighting relegation in the lower reaches of the League One table, as they sit in 19th place.

Their recent form has also been poor, with no wins in their last seven league games.

Pompey will be buoyed by the fact that they have only lost once to the Dale in their history - a 3-0 defeat back in 2014.

Kenny Jackett will no doubt have some big calls to make with regards to team selection due to the club's recent fixture congestion.

Here is the likely starting XI we could see this evening...

Jackett could make a total of three changes for this upcoming clash for Pompey, but will stick to his tried and tested 4-2-3-1 formation as the side look for their seventh consecutive home win in the league.

QUIZ: Can you name these 11 Portsmouth flops?

After a Man of the Match performance last time out against MK Dons, Alex Bass maintains his place in goal, and will be keen to show his capabilities once again.

The back four should see one change, with Lee Brown making way for Steve Seddon, who was rested on Tuesday night. Sean Raggett and Christian Burgess should maintain their places at centre-half and Ross McCrorie is also likely to continue at right-back.

In central midfield, Cameron McGeehan should replace Ben Close to freshen things up, with Tom Naylor maintaining his spot alongside him.

The attacking midfield three will once again be looking to cause damage this evening, and one change is likely to be made. Ronan Curtis maintains his place on the left with Andy Cannon playing at number 10.

Marcus Harness should come in for Ryan Williams on the right-hand side.

Although Jackett has said that Ellis Harrison is fit to play, John Marquis' performance in midweek should see him maintain his starting berth upfront.
