Kenny Jackett's Portsmouth will be looking to bounce back from last week's disappointing 2-2 draw away at Bristol Rovers with a positive result against high-flying Oxford United on Saturday, when the two sides go head to head at Fratton Park.

Pompey have enjoyed a small upturn in form in recent weeks, with the south coast outfit having only lost one of their last five league outings, picking up important victories over Lincoln City and Doncaster Rovers, as they look to move up the league table.

Jackett's men have seemingly begun to turn a corner after a poor start to the campaign, with fan pressure having heightened on the shoulders of the former Millwall boss, there is no doubt that the 57-year-old will want to continue his side's mini-revival.

Here, we take a look at the likely XI we expect the ex-Wolves boss to go with in his side's game against Oxford United this weekend.

Craig MacGillivray is highly likely to continue in goal for the club this weekend, with the Scotsman looking to bounce back from the unfortunate own goal he netted against Bristol Rovers last time out.

We also expect the Pompey back four to remain intact from their last fixture, with Lee Brown and versatile Rangers loanee Ross McCrorie set to maintain their places at full-back, whilst the improving partnership of Sean Raggett and Christian Burgess will take care of matters at the heart of the defence.

Tom Naylor and Ben Close will once again be seeking to win the midfield battle against Oxford, with the two holding players having performed well in recent weeks against varying levels of opposition.

Whilst we also expect Ronan Curtis, Gareth Evans and Ryan Williams to make up the attacking trio who will provide the creativity for lone striker John Marquis, who will no doubt be looking to find the net on more occasions than he has so far to finally get his season up and running.

Oxford United are likely to pose one of the toughest tests that Pompey have faced this season, with Karl Robinson's side currently on a run of five league games without defeat, winning four and drawing one, putting them amongst the most in-form teams in the entire Football league at the time of writing.

Pompey are sure to have their work cut out against the U's and every member of the starting eleven will have to be on their game if they are to take anything away from Saturday's highly anticipated clash.
