Portsmouth take on Ipswich Town on Saturday at Fratton Park, knowing that a win could take them into the play-off places in League One.

Pompey will want to redeem themselves after last weekend's disappointing capitulation at the hands of Accrington Stanley at the Wham Stadium, where the Lancashire side ran out as comfortable 4-1 winners.

The loss to Stanley ended Pompey's ten match unbeaten run in all competitions, and the side from Portsea Island will be looking to bounce back in a strong fashion, but it will not be easy.

Portsmouth will be taking on an Ipswich side who sit in 2nd place in the league with 36 points from their 19 games.

However, it is worth noting that the Tractorboys have just won once in their last seven games in all competitions, losing 2-1 to Bristol Rovers last time out.

It will be the first of a double header against the current top two over the festive period for Pompey as they take on top of the table Wycombe Wanderers on Boxing Day.

Here is the likely XI that Kenny Jackett is likely to field at Fratton Park tomorrow afternoon...

Portsmouth are likely to make two changes for tomorrow's clash on the South Coast, with some players returning from suspension, as well as injuries ruling some of the team out of action.

QUIZ - Portsmouth through the decade: How much can you remember from the 2016/17 season?

Kenny Jackett should set up in his usual 4-2-3-1 formation that has been a regular feature for Portsmouth so far this season.

Craig MacGillivray should continue in goal, but will have to be wary that his starting place could be under threat if he does not put in a good performance against Ipswich. The Scot made an error that led to an Accrington goal last weekend.

There should be two changes to the back four, as Christian Burgess returns at centre-half after serving a one-match ban against Accrington for accumulating five yellow cards.

Brandon Haunstrup and Luke Bolton are both ruled out for up to two months, so Ross McCrorie should drop back into the right side of defence, with Anton Walkes continuing to fill in at left-back.

Tom Naylor should return to defensive midfield after filling in at centre-back against Accrington, partnering Ben Close in front of the back four.

Marcus Harness should maintain his spot in the team ahead of Ryan Williams on the right, after contributing with an assist last time out.

John Marquis should continue at No.10, with Ronan Curtis staying put on the left wing, looking to add to his goal tally of seven in the league.

Ellis Harrison continues as the sole striker for Pompey, and will want to make up for the own goal he scored in the last game.

Kenny Jackett's side will be keen not to slip to back-to-back defeats for the first time this season, against an Ipswich side that are looking to get back on track.
