Gary Rowett will be hoping that his Millwall side can continue their strong start under his stewardship tonight as the Lions play host to lowly Wigan Athletic at the New Den.

The Lions have shown some fine form since the former Birmingham City boss took over the reins in south London, with their impressive 1-0 away win at high-flying Swansea raising more than a few eyebrows in the division.

Rowett has really installed a new-found belief amongst the Millwall squad, with the players showing a lot more attacking intent than had been previously seen during the early few weeks of the campaign under former boss Neil Harris.

The ex-Derby County boss will be hopeful of his side picking up yet another victory this evening, as they take on a Wigan Athletic side who have now gone five Championship games without a win, thus heightening the pressure on manager Paul Cook.

Here, we take a look at the likely Millwall XI that Rowett will field against Wigan Athletic later on this evening...

The impressive Bartosz Białkowski will once again take his place between the sticks for Millwall, with the on-loan Ipswich Town keeper having performed superbly for the south London side so far.

In front of the veteran keeper, Rowett is likely to stick with the back three who played against Swansea, with Alex Pearce being flanked either side by Messrs Jake Cooper and Shaun Hutchinson.

In midfield, we expect there to be one change, with Jayson Molumby coming in for Ben Thompson after the former missed the weekend clash with Swansea due to a hip problem. The Brighton loanee will be partnered in the centre by Shaun Williams, with Murray Wallace and Mahlon Romeo again operating as wide midfielders.

Whereas up top, Rowett is likely to stick with a front three of Jed Wallace, Jon Dadi Bodvarsson and Connor Mahoney, with all three players putting in a good shift last weekend, Wallace will be seeking to be Millwall's match-winner once again after his stunning free-kick.
