It's been a tale of three chapters over the last two months for Steve McClaren's Queens Park Rangers.

The R's started off in dismal fashion, losing their first four league games and conceding a staggering thirteen goals in the process - a nightmare start for the West London club.

A run of four games unbeaten then followed, where the Hoops picked up three wins out of four against Wigan Athletic, Bolton Wanderers and London rivals Millwall.

And as we approach the second international break of the campaign, the R's seem to be back on track as, after succumbing to two successive defeats, they can now look to build on last weekend's 1-1 draw with Derby County and extend their unbeaten run of two games.

It's been an eventful last two months for the R's, who now sit 18th in the Championship table after twelve league games.

Here, we take a look at a couple of lessons that Steve McClaren will have learnt about his QPR side after twelve games.

Having conceded nineteen goals in the league this term, it's clear that QPR need an experienced head at the back if they are to shore up their leaky defence.

Toni Leistner has been a solid addition for the R's, but with the January transfer window looming, perhaps another centre-half should be on the shopping list.

Ebere Eze has been QPR's standout player this term, after netting three goals and producing one assist, and his string of impressive performances have made him subject to interest from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.

But the 20-year-old has featured out wide on numerous occasions this season, and has often looked lost and ineffective when played out wide, and should definitely be played through the middle more often.
