Leeds dropped off top spot after their disappointing draw with Brentford at the weekend, with Sheffield United climbing above them.

Marcelo Bielsa arrived on English shores and no one really knew what to expect.

The Argentinian coach stamped his mark on the Championship almost immediately, playing his expansive brand of football.

And, it's worked, Leeds have only lost one league fixture under Bielsa and it still remains one of their best starts in recent years.

The results are coming with the performances unlike years gone by perhaps, and the feeling is Leeds can go all the way this year.

As mentioned, many didn’t know much about Bielsa, but there is two sides to that coin: Bielsa didn’t know much about Leeds.

Here at FLW, we look at THREE things Marcelo Bielsa may have learnt about his Leeds side thus far…

When a manager brings a new style to a league, there are many jeers of “you can’t play like that in our league!” from some corners of the fanbases. We saw it with Pep Guardiola in the Premier League and also saw it with Marcelo Bielsa more recently.

The Argentinian has learnt that you CAN play a rich attacking game, heavily reliant on positional awareness and interpretation of spaces.

Another thing El Loco has learnt is that relying on plan A is sometimes a better sustainable project than reverting to plan B.

He never changes formation in game, rather he just switches personnel in terms of substitutions. This sends off a better message to the players who are clear with their instructions.

The Brentford and Sheffield Wednesday draws may be thought of as two points dropped by many Leeds fans, with the Whites having a lot of chances.

However, you have to think that Leeds would not have won those matches last season. They can grind out results, which is crucial to a promotion bid.
