After their 11th place finish last season, it's difficult to judge where you would predict Lee Johnson's Bristol City side to finish this season.

That task was made even more difficult as last season's top goalscorer was sold to Cardiff City, with Mo Eisa among those brought in as a replacement.

Luckily for Johnson's side, Andreas Weimann has stepped up somewhat to provide the goal-threat as he has already scored five times this season - though they all came right at the start of the year.

The Robins are sat 13th in the Championship table, but are only three points off a play-off place which will be encouraging for Johnson's side who are on a disappointing run of form of late.

His side face a tough ask if they are to end that poor run of form as they travel to Brentford who are also in the hunt for a top six finish next.

But what lessons will Johnson have learnt about his side in the early stages of the season?

Find out here....

The centre-back had made an excellent start to the life on loan at Bristol City by helping the Robins to three wins in his first three matches for the club.

Despite losing the next two games he featured in, Kalas has been ruled out for a number of weeks after suffering a fractured jaw which has led to him missing several matches in which his side have gone on to lose.

So the Chelsea loanee's influence on this team is huge and it will be a real boost to Johnson's side when he returns.

The strikeforce of Matty Taylor and Famara Diedhiou (pictured) have only scored four goals between them. In contrast, the leading scorers in the Championship, West Brom, have an attack consisting of Dwight Gayle and Jay Rodriguez who have netted 15 times between them already this season.

Bristol City team-mate Andreas Weimann already has five goals himself this season so the pair will need to step up and provide their side with some much-needed goals this season.
