After a disappointing 1-1 draw away at Queens Park Rangers on Saturday afternoon, Frank Lampard’s Derby County are now without a win in three league games.

The Rams have failed to build on a magnificent Carabao Cup win over Manchester United at Old Trafford, although they remain just outside the play-offs by one point after twelve league outings.

Despite their recent slump, Lampard has done a great job in what is his first experience as a manager, and the Rams look a good bet for promotion should they recapture their early-season form.

And with a short international break, this now gives Lampard a chance to look back on what has been, on the whole, a terrific last couple of months.

In what is his first job as a manager, here, we take a look at a couple of lessons Lampard will have learnt about his Derby side after twelve games.

One lesson Lampard will have learnt is that he need to find a consistent formula in his Derby team.

This is a huge factor that may determine whether they finish in the automatic places, playoff places or outside of the top-seven – the Rams are yet to win in the league after what looked to be a fantastic 3-1 home win over Brentford.

If the Rams can find that formula, then they will finish in the top-seven no doubt.

One thing that many Derby fans will love about Lampard is his love for young players, having utilised many youngsters this season.

Academy graduates Mason Bennett, Jayden Bogle and Max Lowe have all featured for Derby this season on more than one occasion, and have all been mightily impressive.

Loan stars Fikayo Tomori, Harry Wilson and Mason Mount have all been incredible for the Rams this season too, the latter being picked for Gareth Southgate's England squad for the first time in his career.
