Leeds United have their fair share of players who simply aren't getting enough regular game time under their belt this season.

This is understandable though, especially given that Marcelo Bielsa's side are showing promising signs as they edge-closer to a long-awaited return to the Premier League.

There are a number of players currently out on loan this season, and one man has been impressive in his time away from Elland Road.

Jay-Roy Grot has been out on loan in the Netherlands with VVV-Venlo and has put in a number of standout performances.

His good run of form has seen him involved with the Dutch under 20s side and he played his part in their win over Mexico this week.

But with the 21-year-old set to return from his loan spell in the summer, he could be set to challenge for a starting spot in Bielsa's squad.

The promising youngster will fancy his chances at breaking into the first-team after gaining first-team experience out on loan this season.

His future could be decided by the end of this season though, as if Leeds are to win promotion, then Grot could see his first-team opportunities severely limited.

It seems unlikely that he would be able to stake a strong enough claim to Bielsa, who will surely have a list of transfer targets in the summer if they are to win promotion to the Premier League.

It's going to be an interesting summer for Grot when he does return to Elland Road, with his future up in the air, and seemingly dependent on whether Leeds win promotion to the top flight this season.
