Conor Shaughnessy looks set to join Scottish Premier League side Heart of Midlothian on loan for the rest of the season in search of first team football.
He’s been on the periphery at Elland Road this season, overtaken by Finland Under 21 star Aapo Halme in the pecking order for a first team place.
He was spotted at the Edinburgh derby on December 29th and is now likely to leave for five months looking for vital experience and exposure to senior action.
He is one of a number of Leeds players who would surely benefit from a move away from Elland Road, be it to Scotland or elsewhere in the EFL. The exposure Shaughnessy will receive will include huge matches against Celtic and Rangers, as well as rather low key affairs against the likes of Hamilton.
That sort of variation will be vital to the youngster and will help his parent club ascertain his true potential. We look at three other Leeds United players that we believe would benefit from a temporary switch.
