Kemar Roofe has been handed the task of leading Leeds' frontline this season and he could be pivotal in securing Leeds' return to the top-flight.

The 25-year-old forward joined Leeds United back in July of 2016 from League One side Oxford United.

Roofe had impressed many a footballing spectator in his journey though the Football League pyramid, and was rewarded with a move to Elland Road.

But life in Leeds began slowly for Roofe, who had to wait until December of 2016 for his first goal in white, as he scored in a 2-0 win against Aston Villa.

In this campaign, though, his third at Elland Road, Roofe has netted five goals in eight games so far.

Picking up the Championship Player of the Month in August, Roofe has since spent time on the sidelines due to injury, but has been hastily thrown back into the starting line-up by Marcelo Bielsa.

And, after scoring the opening goal in his side's 2-0 victory against Ipswich Town last night, Roofe already looks to be back in the swing of things in the Championship.

Bielsa has opted with Roofe over the likes of Patrick Bamford in occupying the no.9 role for Leeds this season, showing a great amount of faith in the Englishman.

Roofe's form this campaign, which has seen him score a goal every 139 minutes, could be what is key to Leeds' push for promotion and a Premier League return.
