It's been a bitter week in terms of temperature and, the further north you go in the country, the worse it gets in the instance of snow.

Certainly the 'Beast from the East' as it has become to be known has firmly hit the north-east of England and, therefore, the Championship clash between Middlesbrough and Leeds is under threat.

Concerns over the game going ahead began yesterday as large snowfall hit the region but, as things stand at the moment, the match is still penciled in to happen.

Those at Boro have been working hard to help keep the pitch clear whilst a meeting this morning has finished without the decision to call the game off.

However, we're far from out of the woods in waiting for this one. More snow and freezing weather is scheduled and, as per Assistant Chief Constable at Cleveland Police Jason Harwin, another meeting is scheduled for this afternoon.

On Twitter, he posted:

The Verdict

Boro might be able to ensure the playing surface remains playable but that is not the only factor to have in mind.

Fans getting to and from the game and the travel situation will also be heavily considered ahead of this one and that is surely bound to sway the decision for this match.
