Nottingham Forest host Cardiff City at the City Ground on Saturday aiming to continue their strong recent form and secure a fourth win in their last five Championship matches.

Sabri Lamouchi’s side secured a 4-0 win at Queens Park Rangers in midweek, a win which saw them record a third successive clean sheet and also climb up to fourth place in the Championship table heading into the weekend’s clash with Cardiff.

The Reds will be without midfielder Ryan Yates, who in midweek served the first of his three-game suspension for the red card he picked up in the goalless draw at Bristol City last weekend, while Samba Sow and Sammy Ameobi are both one booking away from a one game ban having picked up four yellows already this term.

Forest will also continue to be without long-term absentee Tendayi Darikwa, with the defender continuing his recovery from an ACL injury and unlikely to feature until sometime in the New Year, with Matty Cash likely to continue to fill in for him and having just signed a new deal.

The City Ground Quiz - How much do you know about Nottingham Forest's ground?

Carl Jenkinson remains a doubt for the game with an ankle injury which has kept him out of the side since September, but the defender has returned to first team training in recent weeks and could even be available to make the squad on Saturday against Cardiff.

Fellow defender Yohan Benalouane remains a doubt having missed the start of the campaign with a hip injury suffered at the back end of last season, but like Jenkinson he has been stepping up his recovery with the first team and could be called upon by Lamouchi if needed at the weekend.

Lamouchi could also be set to recall Yuri Ribeiro back to his squad, with the defender having missed the last two matches after picking up a knee injury, but he could be ready to make a return to the bench for the visit of Cardiff on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Alfa Semedo, who made his injury comeback against QPR in midweek and appeared to come through the game undamaged, should keep his place in the squad and could even be pushing for a place in the starting line-up.
