With the January transfer window now fast approaching, there are plenty of players who may soon find their futures up in the air.

One such individual who could soon find himself on the move - temporarily at least - is Tottenham youngster Dilan Markanday.

As exclusively revealed by Football League World last week, Nottingham Forest are one of several Championship clubs interested in signing the winger on loan when the market reopens at the turn of the year.

With fellow second-tier sides Blackburn, Stoke and Bournemouth also understood to be interested, and Spurs potentially open to letting Markanday out on loan for regular first-team experience, there could soon be quite a race on for his services during the second-half of this season.

Markanday has been in outstanding form for Spurs at youth level since the start of this campaign, scoring 11 goals and providing four assists in 12 league games for the club's Under 23s side.

That also helped lead to a senior debut for Markanday, when he came off the bench as a 75th minute substitute in Spurs' 1-0 defeat to Vitesse Arnhem in the Europa Conference League back in October.

It also seems as though the winger did enough to impress in that outing, as he also trained with Spurs ahead of their shock defeat to Slovenian outfit NS Mura last week.

But having been absent from the matchday squad for that game, a loan appears to be Markanday's best chance of getting more first-team experience between now and the end of the season.

Consequentially, Forest and their Championship rivals may now sense an opportunity to benefit from handing a new challenge to a player who clearly possesses a great deal of ability and potential.
