Middlesbrough face a difficult test as they travel to face Brentford this weekend.

After an excellent run of form at the turn of the year, the Teessiders are on a run of six games without a win in all competitions.

The latest result was a 1-1 draw against Blackburn Rovers last weekend - a game which saw Hayden Coulson grab a late goal to spare Boro's blushes.

Of course a trip to Griffin Park will prove to be a difficult test, and even more so given the number of injured players in Jonathan Woodgate's squad.

But is expected to miss the clash with the Bees? let's take a look.

Ryan Shotton

The experienced defender has been out of action since the end of October with an ankle injury.

Shotton had been a key player for Middlesbrough this term and the hope will be to get him back as soon as possible.

Despite featuring for the under-23s last weekend, it's thought that the 31-year-old won't be ready for the trip to Griffin Park but should be fit for the home clash with Luton Town next weekend.

Anfernee Dijksteel

The full-back will be out for another three months.

Dijksteel suffered a knee injury in the victory over Barnsley two weeks ago and faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

No return date has been confirmed but it is expected that he could be out until April.

George Friend

The captain has featured just twice so far this term after struggling with a thigh and hip injury.

The problem developed at the end of last season and despite trying to shake off the knock, it's something which has ruled him out for the majority of the campaign so far.

Friend is not far from a return and if he can get through Tuesday night's under-23 match unscathed then he may be available to face Luton Town next weekend.

How much attention have you paid to Middlesbrough this season? Let's find out!

Daniel Ayala

The Spanish defender hasn't featured since hobbling off in the News Years Day victory over Preston North End.

It was an ankle injury that forced him off and unfortunately the setback appears to be more serious than first thought.

Ayala is said to be four-six weeks away from a return meaning that it could be late March before he returns.

Patrick Roberts

The midfielder was hugely impressive after arriving at the club on loan from Manchester City.

Unfortunately, he was brought off during the 1-1 draw with Birmingham City after suffering with a hamstring injury.

Roberts is expected to be out until the end of March.
