Huddersfield Town travel to Elland Road to take on Leeds United in the Sky Bet Championship this Saturday, with the Terriers looking to ease relegation fears and deal their Yorkshire rivals something of a blow in their quest for promotion.

Danny Cowley has watched his side pick up back-to-back wins in Huddersfield’s last two home games, with Bristol City and Charlton Athletic beaten well at the John Smith’s Stadium.

However, Leeds United and Elland Road are a very different test for Cowley’s side, who are not out of trouble at the bottom of the Championship table, with an intriguing relegation battle developing.

They can be confident of a result at Elland Road, though, given their recent form.

So, how is Cowley’s squad shaping up ahead of the clash?

We take a look…

Jonathan Hogg

Hogg limped off in the win over Bristol City with an issue to his lower leg.

Whilst Cowley has confirmed he’s making decent progress, this weekend comes too soon for the midfielder.

Trevoh Chalobah has done well in his absence and will expect to continue.

Tommy Elphick

Elphick is a long-term absentee for Town, with the defender undergoing surgery on his knee back in late 2019.

The knee ligament injury has kept Elphick out of action for a significant period already and that will continue this weekend.

Richard Stearman and Christopher Schindler have formed a good partnership since the former signed in January, easing this blow.

Andy King

King missed last weekend’s win over Charlton Athletic with a hamstring injury.

Cowley didn’t provide a detailed update on King, but he’s expected to be available for the trip to Elland Road.

Kamil Grabara

Similarly, Grabara is now back in contention after overcoming the necessary concussion tests.

The goalkeeper suffered a serious head injury earlier in the season, but made his comeback in the under-23s earlier in the week.

Cowley has confirmed he is back in the mix and competing with Jonas Lossl for the goalkeeping gloves.
