This weekend sees Charlton Athletic go head to head with Luton Town in a match which could prove crucial in deciding who is relegated from the Championship this season.

Lee Bowyer's side currently sit in 19th place with 33 matches played, just five points clear of the relegation zone and just six ahead of the Hatters, leaving the Valley clash looking rather important.

In fact, it is not just this match which Bowyer will be focusing on. In their next six games, the Addicks play six sides in the bottom half in Luton, Sheffield Wednesday, Huddersfield, Middlesbrough, Hull and QPR.

After that run of fixtures, we are likely to have a much better of idea of where Charlton will finish.

For now, however, focus will remain on the imminent Luton challenge and Bowyer had a few injury updates to impart ahead of the game.

The first hammer blow of a comment regarded loanee midfielder Sam Field. When he has played this season, the West Brom man had looked impressive but Bowyer confirmed on Thursday that he had returned to the Baggies with his knee injury, stating that his season may well be over.

Jonny Williams is also likely to miss the next couple of games as well with a knock of his own although the manager seemed somewhat relieved, feeling that it could have been worse for him.

Darren Pratley is also set to miss out although, again, Bowyer hopes it will not be a long-term issue, stating that he is expected back in time for their next clash with Wednesday.
